at University College Dublin in his native Ireland during the early 1940s, and at The Illinois
Institute of Technology (IIT), where he studied with Mies van der Rohe in the late 1940s.
Roche is also a former design associate of Eero Saarinen.

The exhibition celebrates Monsieur Roche’s typological innovations and understanding
of architecture as part of larger man-made and natural environments. This exhibition surveys
his innovative representational techniques, which include slide presentations some thirty years
before the advent of the powerpoint format; building large scale models, full-scale mock-ups,
and prototypes; and using diagrams and charts as part of the design process.
